ROLE DESCRIPTION – PHOTOGRAPHER
PROBUS CANADA MISSION:
Provide regular monthly and other gatherings (events) for retired and semi-retired individuals who appreciate and value opportunities to meet with others of similar interests.
PROBUS CANADA OVERVIEW:
Probus is a volunteer-based, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian fellowship organization with over 4,000 clubs worldwide (250 in Canada with 35,000+ members). Focused on promoting healthy minds and bodies in a venue of socializing, with other retirees in the communities.
ROLE TITLE: Photographer NAME: Mina Auciello ROLE TENURE: 2 years
Note: Chair may as necessary, solicit additional resources to facilitate project / event completion
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Leads in the capture of high-quality photos and videos during club events, activities and community initiatives. The work will document key moments, highlight community engagement and create visual content that showcases the impact of the programs for marketing, social media and fundraising efforts. Acts as resident “expert” regarding photographs.

PRIMARY SKILLS:
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in photography techniques (lighting, composition, settings)
- Equipment: Required to have professional or semi-professional digital camera equipment
- Editing Skills: Basic knowledge of editing software (ie Lightroom / Photoshop) or similar, to adjust lighting and crop photos
- Independence: Reliable / ability to work independently and meet deadlines / flexible and event based
- Teamwork: Work across a team of volunteer retirees (Leader team and other volunteers)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event Coverage: Attend scheduled club events and take candid, action-oriented and posed photos of attendees, volunteers, speakers and participants
- Content Creation: Capture, edit and select high-quality images that tell the story of the event and align with the organization’s brand
- Organization and Delivery: Organize, edit (as required) and upload selected photos to designated platforms (ie Google Drive, Canva, Flickr) in a timely manner (usually within 1-2 weeks of the event
- Collaboration: Work with the respective committee(s) / Webmaster, to develop a final list of key moments, speakers and activities
- Privacy and Compliance: Adhere to guidelines regarding privacy, photo releases and consent, ensuring participants are aware of photography
